Groome works with a variety of HRSG clients across a wide range of project types.
Recently, a client contacted Groome with the goal to restore an SCR catalyst system to its original operating capacity. There were several issues to be addressed, including high dP and the unit tripping. The client needed the know-how and expertise of Groome to successfully complete the job.
Groome developed a plan to provide long-term, sustainable results, which included cleaning and repacking the system, which restored the pressure drop levels to values close to that of the original system design. The work completed by the Groome team resulted in minimal disruption to the plant with the plant realizing significant fuel savings per year plus a substantial revenue increase. As well, the plant improved operational efficiency and maximized the lifespan of the equipment. Read the full case study here.
The system was cleaned and repacked, which restored the pressure drop levels to values close to that of the original system design. After the Groome team completed the project, the SCR Catalyst System was back up and running with minimal disruption to the plant. The plant realized $275,000 fuel savings per year based on 8,000 hour run time at base load. If this plant runs the expected 8,000 hours at base load, they will realize a revenue increase of up to $1.8 million.
